Frequently Asked Questions
What is a webinar lesson?
A webinar is like a live, interactive TV programme. Unlike an online meeting there is no need for your child to use a camera or microphone, they just watch on their PC, tablet or phone. This makes the lesson completely safe and secure and any recording is of the teacher only. There is a question and answer box that can only be seen by the teacher.
How much do the lessons cost?
Each 60 minute webinar is just £3.99. You can register for as many or as few as you want and the price includes access to the recording if your child would prefer to watch in their own time rather than at the live broadcast time.
Can my child have a taster lesson?
I have made the first one-hour lesson in this year's series of videos free to watch as a taster lesson. Click below to get started! If your child likes the lesson you can then sign them up for as many or few as you like at £3.99 each.
It's cheap; what's the catch?
There isn't one. The webinar style allows me to to deliver my usual lessons to a larger number of pupils for a much lower price than ever before. The lessons aren't tailored for each pupil of course but children will be receiving the same high quality advice and teaching that my 1 to 1 students have received for the past 17 years.
My lessons are intended as a booster to any existing work or a very low-cost alternative to traditional tuition. Your child will receive the same content for a fraction of the price of an hour of my 1-1 tuition.
In fact...it is less than 1/7 of the price :)
Do I need special software?
Not really. I use Zoom Webinars for my classes so you will need to make sure you have Zoom downloaded on your device.
If your child will be using a desktop PC or laptop you can use this link to down load Zoom. https://zoom.us/download

If they will be using a tablet or phone simply search for the Zoom app in your app store and download it on to your device. It is possible to access the webinars without downloading Zoom but the experience will be of a lower quality.
When are the live lessons?
My booster classes for children currently in Year 5 begin will begin in January 2025 and will run through the Spring and Summer terms. If your child misses a class a recording will be made available but no refunds can be given.
What if my child misses the live class?
Don't worry if you have registered and paid but can't make the live class time. Simply email me the next day and I can send you a secure link to a video recording that will be available for 7 days. This gives your child the chance to catch up before the next lesson.
Who is the teacher and who are the lessons for?
Webinar lessons are delivered by Claire. They are for all pupils who are considering taking the Kent 11+ test in September 2025. Most content also applies to those pupils taking the Medway 11+ test but the Kent webinars may not cover everything needed for the Medway test.
